Student Wellbeing
Student welfare is the responsibility of all staff working in a whole school context. Student learning cannot be separated from welfare’ (DEECD 2010).
I understand that wellbeing and learning are interlinked and are considered an essential part of creating effective learning environments (Wyn 2009, p. xi).
I consider student wellbeing and welfare as a very important aspect of my Duty of Care within the teaching profession and aim to facilitate a learning environment where students are supported through a network of professionals, who address the development of all students needs by adapting practices that promote positive wellbeing.
In my attempts to develop positive relationships and environments to
promote equality and enhance learning for all students, I endeavour to
ensure every student’s academic, social and personal learning
needs are met through positive experiences in the classroom.

I have been part of various groups who have developed best practice approaches and resources to inform our own and others knowledge about student welfare and wellbeing.
